 History

Serving the children of the southern madison county

The Kiwanis Club of Berea, Kentucky was the frist civic organization for men in the Berea community. Organized August 23, 1922, and chartered November 22, 1922, the Berea Kiwanis Club has been serving the community for over 90 years.

The club's motto, "We Build," is an accurate description of the services it renders, for not only has the club contributed to the community in numerous ways (for example, the construction of the community park, the establishment of an annual Easter Egg Hunt, and supporting girl's and boy's youth groups), but it has also contributed internationally with programs such as the Heifer Project (a program designed to purchase cattle to sell at low cost to needy farmers in America and third world countries).
